Women's Woodworking Class - 4 sessions

Thursday, June 13, 2024 (6:00 PM - 9:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

Do you feel a bit intimidated by the idea of making something from wood? Do you want to feel self-sufficient by creating basic items from standard lumber? In this class, we will use common hand tools to make a box with a handle (tailored to each student’s needs and uses, of course!)., providing a project that allows for learning to use various tools and techniques. Tools will include handsaws, drills, rasps, planes, and others. If participants are interested, we might use a few power tools (power drill, orbital sander, router). No previous experience using tools is needed. A veteran woodworking instructor with 40 years of experience teaching children and adults, Alex will teach you everything you need to know in a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. If time allows, students will be able to make additional projects. If you’d like more information about Alex Brede, visit his website: https://woodworkingwithkids.wordpress.com/

This is a class series over 4 separate weeks. All Thursday evenings, June 13, June 27, July 11 and July 18.

18 years and up. Classes will be canceled if a minimum of 5 registrations isn't met.
